The 360 watt kit is your best choice for low cost and maximum range on level ground
or low to medium grades. Under typical conditions, the 360 watt motor can drive 20"
folding bikes up to 20 mph and 26" bikes at 25+ mph.
At crusing speeds, the motor will
draw about 10-12 amps so this kit will work fine with either our inexpensive SLA batteries
or the NiMH battery pack. Without pedaling and on level ground we have recorded trips of 23 miles using
the SLA battery and in excess of 25 miles with the NiMH battery pack. You can further
extend the range and increase climbing performance by moving up to the 24v 20Ahr or 24v 24Ahr Li-Ion
battery. If you travel in very hilly terrain or weigh over 180 lbs. you may want to
consider the higher power 500 watt kit.
